PRACTICE AREAS

Criminal Defense - I aggressively represent clients charged with crimes in state and federal court. I have never been a prosecutor nor ever had such a desire. To my disbelief, some criminal defense lawyers boldly advertise their former careers as prosecutors. I learned how to defend clients by defending them not by putting them in the jail. When I was a child and my friends wanted to be police officers, I wanted to be a lawyer. I went to law school to become a criminal defense lawyer. When I graduated, I went to work for the best criminal defense lawyer in town. I have also attended the National Criminal Defense College in Macon, Georgia.

I represent clients charged with any crime in the Commonwealth of Virginia or in the United States District Court including but not limited to: murder, manslaughter, malicious and unlawful wounding, assault and battery, robbery, breaking and entering, sex crimes including rape and child pornography, computer crimes, grand and petty larceny, embezzlement, destruction of property, drug distribution and possession, underage possession of alcohol, firearm offenses including unlawful discharge or possession by a felon and crimes against minors including neglect and contributing.

Traffic Defense - If you are charged with a traffic offense in the Commonwealth of Virginia, I can help you. I represent clients charged with driving under the influence (D.U.I.), reckless driving, improper driving, speeding, hit and run, failure to stop or yield, driving on a suspended license, aggressive driving or any other traffic offense.

My office is centrally located at the intersection of Interstate 95 and 64. I represent clients charged with traffic offenses in the following courts: Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, Hanover, Colonial Heights, Petersburg, Dinwiddie, Hopewell, Prince George, Nottoway, Amelia, Powhatan, Goochland, Albemarle, Charlottesville, King William, King and Queen, Caroline, Charles City, James City, Williamsburg, Hampton, Newport News, Prince Edward, Essex, Gloucester, Middlesex and Louisa. If you are charged in a jurisdiction that is not listed above, please do not hesitate to call me.

Expungement - If you were charged with a criminal offense in the State of Virginia and were acquitted or the charge was nolle prossed (dropped) or dismissed, you can petition the Circuit Court of that jurisdiction to have the charge expunged from your record. If the Petition is granted, the charge will be completely removed from your record. Unfortunately, if you were convicted of a criminal offense or the case was taken under advisement and later dismissed, you can not have this conviction expunged. I have helped numerous individuals expunge criminal charges from their records. If you would like to discuss having a Virginia criminal charge expunged from your record, please call me today

Family Law - Cases involving divorce, custody of children and support create great stress and anxiety for most clients. I can help you through this difficult time. My extensive experience in the courtroom will help you get what you are entitled to and protect the ones you love the most. Whether you are seeking a divorce or separation, child or spousal support or custody of children, you need to be properly represented. Call me today.
